Bacterial Abundance as a Proxy of Nectar pH
Using Stanford's Dish site, nectar samples were obtained from sticky monkeyflowers in order to examine its microbial components. After plating and incubating the nectar samples, bacterial densities were counted and compared to their respective nectar pH observed in the field to notice any possible relationships. The project focused on the ecological impact bacteria have on hummingbirds. Part of a two-poster series with Fatou Barrie.
